Research activities only use Personal Data and/or Client Data from Customers who have given explicit consent according to the applicable Consent Document. Research activities may include R&D in order to improve the Services, offer new products or services, perform quality control activities or conduct data analysis.
“Personal Data” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person and/or Client (“Data Subject”); an identifiable natural person and/or a Client is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, cultural or social identity of that natural person. The Company collects and stores the following Personal Data:
(a) Identification Information: information Customer provides about itself when ordering our Services (e.g. name, email, and address and payment information and company affiliation).
(b) Customer service: when Customer contacts our customer care service or corresponds with us about our Services, we collect information to: track and respond to Customer’s inquiry; investigate any breach of our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy or applicable laws or regulations; and analyze and improve our Services.
(c) Web-Behavior Information: information on how Customer uses our Website collected through log files, cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies, (e.g., device information (device identifiers), IP address, browser type, domains, page views).
(d) Tissue Samples: any tissue from a biological source, such as benthic invertebrates, biological muscle, human hair, terrestrial hair, etc.
(e) Analysis Results: any reportable result including concentrations, molar ratios, graphs, charts, memos for data interpretation, Excel data and PDF reports, etc.
(f) Consent Document: as found on the website when submitting a requisition form for a human hair anaysis and/or an equine hair anaysis.
“Services” means the Company’s services, access to the Website and other associated services.
“Terms of Service” means these terms of service as amended, revised or updated from time to time.

The Privacy Officer is responsible for overseeing TrichAnalytics’ privacy management program and compliance with applicable privacy legislation.
In the context of Personal Data processing, TrichAnalytics Inc. collects and processes the following categories of data:
(a) Automatic information: we receive Personal Data when you use our Services. We collect web-behavior information, navigation preferences, IP address and data analysis through cookies or other similar tracking technologies (“Cookies” as defined below) when you visit our Website. (b) Information you give us: we collect and process Personal Data to contact you, take and handle orders, deliver and receive samples, send invoices or when you contact our customer care service. TrichAnalytics Inc. receives and analyzes biological and specialized samples submitted by Customers in connection with laboratory testing services. Depending on the service requested, these samples may include, but not limited to, hair, muscle tissue, feathers, benthic invertebrates, fish tissue, fish otoliths, or other biological matrices.
Biological samples are used solely for the analytical services requested by the Customer, laboratory quality assurance and quality control activities, and Research Activities where explicit consent has been provided.
Biological samples and any associated information are stored, retained, anonymized, returned, or destroyed in accordance with the Company’s laboratory procedures, legal requirements, accreditation obligations, quality assurance standards, and/or Customer instructions.
All analytical results, reports, and data generated from Customer samples shall be treated as confidential information of the Customer. The Company will not disclose, sell, publish, or use such data for purposes unrelated to the provision of Services without the Customer’s prior written consent, except where required by law.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Company may use anonymized and aggregated data that cannot reasonably identify the Customer, its operations, samples, sites, personnel, or projects for internal quality control, method development, accreditation activities, statistical analysis, research, benchmarking, and business improvement purposes.
We process your Personal Data only for the following purposes:
To provide our Services: we collect and process Personal Data in order to provide our Services which include processing payments, and delivering Analysis Results.
To analyze and improve our Services: we constantly work to improve our Services, to analyze performance, fix errors, and improve the usability and effectiveness of our Services. For instance, we may need to analyze the use of our Website to improve customer experience and to get website’s audience statistics.
To communicate with you: we use your Personal Data to communicate with you in relation to our Services and about orders, services, and promotional offers.

Description of the Research Activities conducted by TrichAnalytics Inc.: The Company receives and analyzes biological samples submitted in connection with laboratory testing services. Depending on the service requested, samples may originate from humans, animals, wildlife, aquatic organisms, or environmental monitoring programs.
In order to conduct Research Activities, the Company and its research partners may collect, preserve, and analyze biological tissues and related analytical information (collectively, “Research Information”) provided by participants who have provided explicit consent.
Research Activities are intended to advance scientific understanding of environmental exposure, nutrition, physiology, wildlife health, toxicology, ecology, environmental monitoring, and related scientific disciplines.
Discoveries resulting from Research Activities may contribute to scientific knowledge relating to environmental and biological exposure patterns, nutritional status, ecological systems, human and animal health, toxicology, and other related areas of study.
What are the costs and will I receive compensation? – Neither the Company nor its partners will charge you a fee or provide financial compensation to participate in Research Activities. The data you share with us for Research Activities may benefit researchers and others in the future. If any commercial product is developed as a result of Research Activities or their outcomes, there will be no financial benefit to you.
What are the benefits of participating? – Our Research Activities are intended to assist academics or researchers to better understand human or animal species, learn or confirm certain facts and make predictions about future trends. Thus, the more Research Information contributed to the research project, the better any potential results could be.
Specific information regarding the purpose, objectives, anticipated benefits, risks, and use of information collected for each Research Activity will be made available through the applicable project materials, consent documentation, or on the Company’s website.
Participation in a research project may not provide any direct personal benefit to participants. However, the information contributed may help improve scientific understanding and support future research, education, conservation, environmental management, or health-related initiatives.

Accordingly, all services offered that require the submission of any personal or other information to the Company are restricted to persons who are the age of majority in the jurisdiction of their residence.
As a consequence, TrichAnalytics Inc. does not knowingly collect or use Personal Data from children under the age of 18. By using our Services, you are required to confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
If the Company gains actual knowledge that information has been collected from a Minor under the age of 18 the Company will not disclose this data and reserves the right to immediately delete the related order and wipe all related information, including health and sensitive data of the customer, from its servers.
